SafeWork Australia defines health monitoring as “the monitoring of a worker to identify changes in their health status because of exposure to certain substances.” Managing exposure to hazardous substances and the risk of injury or illness to team members or other persons in the workplace is part of a business’s Primary Duty of Care under the Work Health and Safety [model] Act 2011 (the Act).
