The Learning Framework

The learning journey is built on best-practice instructional design and has been carefully crafted to support the transfer of learning concepts back into the workplace—so you can be confident it will support a positive shift in attitudes and deliver results.

Our learning framework and interactive, online platform supports training transfer by:

  • Creating motivation

Highly interactive training and webinar platforms replicate the face-to-face feel. Online modules are infused with videos and images, and the interactivity promotes engagement

  • Minimising cognitive overload

Learning modules are delivered in bite-sized ‘chunks’ designed to appeal to learners of today who may disengage from long modules or text-heavy online training

  • Supporting active learning

Inclusion of live webinar discussions focuses the responsibility of learning on participants and provides opportunity to tailor discussions to relevant workplace examples

  • Focusing on practical application

The applied learning sessions are a critical component in supporting participants to apply the concepts to their work

  • Staggered learning phases

Staggering the online learning modules and webinars over time assists with the consolidation of information and transfer of comprehensive learning. The expectation that learners will participate in follow-up activities increases engagement and attention to learning materials

ZeroScale Assessment

If your business has not participated in the MTC’s Safety Culture Diagnostic survey then the ZEROscale assessment is an option.

The ZEROScale is an assessment of personal safety attitudes that align with the Taking Control of My Safety program content. It measures specific thinking patterns that drive safety-related behaviours. An online survey, the ZEROScale can be completed in 20 minutes and individual reports are immediately available.

The assessment is designed to create self-awareness within individuals regarding their attitudes toward safety. In order for your business to achieve safety culture change, individuals need to be operating from helpful attitudes or frames. This increases the likelihood that participants will arrive at their Taking Control of My Safety training program ready to have their thinking challenged and willing to consider that there might be a better way of operating.

The Outcome

Taking Control of My Safety will shift the individual attitudes of employees at all levels. It will build motivation for employees to invest in safety and make safe choices so that they go home every day to the people and things they care about most.
